I had my period on June 26, 2006 and have not had once since. I already took two home pregnany tests but they come back with negative results. is it possible to be pregnant and for the results to come back negative?

Get a blood test done at your doctor's office - that would tell you for sure if you are pregnant or just going through a hormonal imbalance or an anovulatory cycle (a cycle where you miss an ovulation - can make you miss a period). Blood tests are more accurate than home pregnancy tests. Sometimes, if the pregnancy hormone level is low it won't be detected in a urine test, but will be detected in a blood test. So you can get a false negative from urine tests and yet be pregnant.

It is a common myth that periods can be delayed because of stress (a couple people said this above me) this is not true. Ovulation can be delayed because of stress, which might make your luteal stage later, which can cause later periods.

Have you lost a lot of weight recently, been working out/or working harder at work (physically). Have you taken birth control pills in the last couple months? Are you also feeling very lethargic and bruising easily? (Those are signs of anemia).

You need to see a doctor regardless of the outcome, even if you end up getting a period today. He must run tests to be sure that you are not having an illness, and maybe set you up an appt for a pap smear to be sure there is nothing going on down there (polyps, endometriosis, STD, infections).

Not likely.....you may be stressing yourself out which can delay it. Try not to worry about it too much, because if you are pregnant, you are pregnant and if you aren't, you aren't! Give it another week or so....a pregnancy test can detect the hormone within days of conception, so it is unlikely you are pregnant if two resulted in a negative.

False negatives are much more common than false positives. It may take awhile for your hcg levels to be high enough to be detected by a HPT (for me, it took 4 tests before I got my positive result). Some things to consider... Have you always been regular? Did you have intercourse around the time you think you ovulated?

If you're concerned, see your doctor.

the home pregnancy tests are 99% acurate now if you want to be 100% sure get a blod test, however if you already took 2 must likely you are not pregnant.

I seriously dought it. those test are pretty accurate.

It is probably is stress over it causing your period to be later than usual. just breath and do something fun and let your body release some stress.

I can't tell you how many time i've syked myself out causeing my period to take longer than 12 days later to come back.

Yes it is, infact hpt have been known to give false negitives, go to a doctor and get a blood test

I would go for a blood test. You may just be late....best to find out. Good luck:)
