You can get into medical school with a psych degree. Many people do. You just need to make sure you have taken the
prerequisite coursework for medical admissions.

Preqs include:
1 year general chem (with lab)
1 year organic chem (with lab)
1 year general biology (with lab)
1 year intro. physics (with lab)
1 year English
1 year calculus
Suggested coursework includes: psychology, statistics, biochemistry, humanities

If you have not taken some of these (i guess with a psych degree, you didn't do o-chem), then you can take them at community college. Otherwise, look into a post-baccalaureate program where you spend a year focusing on these courses.

After you take the pre-reqs, you will need to take the MCAT. It is a grueling 8 hour exam that tests you in reading, biology, general and organic chem, physics and essay writing. The science stuff will be covered by the pre-req classes -- there is no upper division material on the test. The MCAT is offered in April and August. Check out their website http://www.aamc.org and you can download actual past exams to practice with.

Then you spend a year doing med school apps. You need to submit to AMCAS http://www.amcas.org things like demographic info, personal statement, transcripts. Then there are secondary apps which are essays you write for each school you apply for. Then there's interview. That's the biggie. Nail the interview, and you're in.
