There is a woman at work who is about twice my age but dumb as a box of rocks. I worry about her competence, but above all she drives me and my other colleages insane. My immediate supervisor is aware of the situation and even makes jokes about her intelligence (lack of) behind her back. She is a nice person and tries really hard but she just doesn't have what it takes to work on our team in my opinoin. Should I go above the supervisors head to management about this person, or wait for her to make a mistake that could cost her her job.

I would only rise above your supervisor if she starts to cause you not to perform as you should at your job. i have had the same type of situation and ended up going to the owner and letting him know this person is inferring with my productivity, he later transferred this person to a different location.
good luck

Hon, you are not at work to make friends. This lady has every right to be at work as you do. She probably has a mortgage to pay and bills. You really want to take that away from her because she drives you crazy? Do the mature thing....stay away and do your job.

Good luck!

I wouldn't. That could be career suicide. Eventually she mess up enough and get fired. maybe even your supervisor. Then you can slide into his spot.

No. I would sit back and wait until she does something to get herself fired or let go. Trust me what goes around comes around.
