I saw the Dukes of Hazzard show where they were using moonshine for gas, and I was wondering if it still works even on new engines. If it does is it still illegal to make moonshine?

Yes, unfortunately it is illegal to make moonshine.
As a fuel ethanol is a viable alternative to gasoline. It would work in an emergency, but in it's pure form will cause some problems with most modern engines because it burns hotter and will corrode many of the gaskets and hoses found in most older model cars.

Recipe for ethanol and moonshine is just about the same. They're both pure grain alcohol

it still works but the engine will die and youll need to replace the engine in about 2 days. i would not recommend it. its still illegal to make moonshine.

Yes, it still works and the USA is increasing the number of gas stations that include alcohol.

Have you never hear of gas-a-hol. a blend of alcohol and gasoline. They now
call it ethanol. Distilled grain alcohol is blended with gasoline. It work and has been used for years.

make some and put it in your car and try it. if it don't work you know it don't work or you'll be blowen up and that would get you a Darwin award.
