I am female ultrasound tech, and I have a few comments. Since you are only 19 years old, you must have a lump that either you or your doctor felt. You are too young to have reliable mammograms (young breast tissue is dense and very hard to see through on mammos). You should have changed into a gown, been escorted to the scan room. At this point, a female chaperone should have already been present. At facilities where I have worked with male techs, if another tech was not available, we had a member of the clerical staff chaperone. You should have been instructed to lay on your back with the arm (right arm for the right breast and left arm for the left breast) above your head and slightly turned half way up on your side, with only the breast of interest exposed. If you are able to feel the lump yourself, the technologist should have asked you to show him where it is located. I have never asked a patient to stand up and raise their arms for an ultrasound. I have never seen another ultrasound tech request a patient do this.
So, what do you do now? First off, learn from it. Never allow that to happen again....speak up and ask for a female chaperone. You can also refuse an exam or any part of an exam. It is your body, and you are in charge of what someone in the medical field does to it. I would call the imaging supervisor and voice my concerns. I would then follow up that telephone conversation with a letter. You should also send a copy of your letter to the hospital administrator and your referring physician. I am sorry this happened to you, as it does sound inappropriate.

Ok whta exactly did he say? You could have misinterpreted him because it was an uncomfortable situation. He may have told you to move around to get better pictures, sometimes they need different views. Im not doubting you but if you felt in some way things were not right you should of said something, and next time you get an exam ask for a nurse to be present and if they are doing something you dont feel right or understand ask them to explain what and why they are doing what they are doing. I dont believe it required for just and X-ray or ultra sound, I had several of those. But if male Dr.'s or nurses make you uncomfortable ask for a woman to be present thats what I do. Since I don't know the details I can only say go back and talk to a nurse, tell her exactly what happened and how you felt and they can asses the situation and see if he violated you in any way and take care of it. I wouldnt just forget about he could be doing inapropriate things to others so you should contact some one in charge as soon as you can.

the guy should have had a female chaperone, for not only your protection but his as well. As a nurse I have seen the occasional breast ultrasound and I have seen the ultrsonagrapher ask the things he did of you.
Next time insist on having a female chaperone. Not much you can do about it now, except use it as a learning experience.

You have had a bad experience and it should be brought to the notice of the head of the institution. To prove the wrong doings and the malafide intents becomes difficult in the absence of an independent witness. Make sure that you have a chaperone next time. That is your right.

It shouldn't of happened, but if he was the only one on call for U/S that's the reason you had a man, report to the hospital administrator. They should follow up with you. Just write down everything that he said or did that you though was not right, and call they should do something about it.

at present mine has been going returned and forth between sixteen-17%...yet i've got self assurance it is on gradual downward type because of fact some months in the past it grew to become into around 19-20%...by ability of the tip of the year i'm hoping to be at a million-2%. while it is going to a unfavourable selection, which would be my clue to pass on..

I would immediately talk to my doctor. Tell him/her exactly what happened to you and ask for advise on how to handle the situation. I wouldn't even wait for Monday. You shouldn't have to worry about this over the week end.
When this happens you must report it. You don't want him to go on doing it. This is how women get raped and/or killed. The guy keeps going and getting worse if you allow him. If you don't report it, you are condoning it and giving him the O.K. to do it.

Call the clinic and ask for the Director. They will help you file a complaint and document it. It's the only way they can get reprimanded. If he gets away with it long enough he'll try other stuff too.
