I'm looking to get mortgage and instead of buying ready-to-move-in property I'd like to buy one in bad state and renovate it myself as I am a builder and have the right tools. Brighton.

Move to somewhere remote where the properties are cheaper and buy a home that's sold "as is".

Or get really creative and turn an old barn into a house. I knew a family that did that and it came out pretty awesome.

I think you should check out 'Housing Auctions' where they sell houses in the same format as an auction (as in to the highest bidder).

I think you could buy a nice cheap place and then you'll be left to renovate it yourself.

I'm sure you could then sell it off for a higher price than you paid and if you're good enough you'll earn a profit.

Good luck.

:-)

Wow I didn't think any property was cheap in those areas, were I live you can get a 2 bed terrace for less than £55,000 but I guess thats too far for you to trek each day.

If you were to write to a bloke called George Bush in Washinton, USA he would be able to give you the addresses of no end of derelict properties that he has created. Tell him that there are some muslims living at the end of your' road and he'll no doubt get his local sub-contractor, A. Blair & Co, to create more derelict buildings very local for you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worst house in a good neighborhood. The surroundings help pull it up once you do things to remedy the situation, and the neighbors will love you.

Places that have psychological "push aways" for buyers that can be corrected cheaply.

Same place you get any property.

Call all the realtors and tell them to keep an eye for a project property for you. Give them your price range and interest.
