I am ordering my wedding dress in about 2 days and I absolutely can't make up my mind about which color to choose. It is definitely between those two (white or ivory).

I have a pretty good tan, so I know either one would look okay. Is there that big of a difference between the two colors?

I know it's up to me and not anyone else, but I seriously don't know which to choose.

???

Ivory will look softer in photographs, sometimes white can be pretty glaring. I had a dress in a color called 'champagne white' which was really an ivory, and it looked a lot nicer than the bright one.

White may look a bit stark next to your tan, too.

I would have to recommend white, it is symbolic. I think with your complexion white would also work nicely its crisper , purer and def fresh and might be nice if you are having a morning or early afternoon wedding whereas the ivory would be nice in the evening with soft lighting which could bring out all the natural colours nicely...if you take the ivory it may appear old, and seem a little tired. But as I said before can work very nicely with soft lighting (candles/Star lit sky) At the end of the day it also depends on the venue theme and contrasting colour you have chosen...
In turn no matter what the choice you will ob. look stunnin...

If you really can't decide, and can spare some time, stop by a local wedding store and select a dress, for color intended purposes only, and try it on. That way you get a better idea. Also see if they have a style closest to the dress you are purchasing. This will also give you a better idea about the look with your tan.

if u have tan skin, ivory could really show off the glow of your skin. white may be too big of a contrast...u have to try both colors on and see which one is more flattering... perhaps u can go to a bridal shop and ask for advice? i'm sure they will have dresses in different colors and let you try them on... david's bridal or a mom&pop shop may be places you can just pop in and take a look-see. :) good luck, and u'll have a *gorgeous* wedding!

I would go with Ivory. Don't be like everyone else! Both would look fantastic against your tan, so either one would work. But since you are asking me to choose,,,, i pick ivory!!! =)

Don't worry white or ivory - when you see the dress you'll know it's the one not matter what color it is.

I would go with white, ivory tends to look dirty. My dress is a color called "candlelight". It's kind of a creamy white but not yellow-ish.

Congrats from one Bride to be to another!

really, it depends on the colors of your wedding. if it's more classic, i would go with the ivory, but if the colors are more bold or bright, i would go with white.
