I heard once on the radio this song that got stuck in my head. Of course I dont remeber the whole song but it was like.... rock on.... and they said somthing about Jimmy Dean. I was also watching music videos on VH1, but only caught the recap of the top 20, and heard some of the same song but done by Def Leppord. I just wanted to know who sang the original one and the lyrics to it too.
Thank You

And the other one:
I heard a song on the radio, didn't catch the name, or the artist. I can't get it out of my head, hopefully you can help me. it's sang by a woman, some of the lyrics go like: "does she do you the way I do you in your mind", maybe she'll learn to love the way I do",

The first song is sung is called "Rock On" by David Essex...lyrics on link below...great song! (first year junior high school days - I'm old!!)
Sorry, I'm not sure about the 2nd song at all...
update - checked on the 2nd one as everyone is referring to Melissa Ethridge, but the words you've typed don't seem to appear in song - see 2nd link
Also, checked Alanis Morrisette, and can't find any songs that quite match either...

The first song is "Rock On" originally by David Essex, but remade in the 80's by Michael Damian.

Artist: David Essex Lyrics
Song: Rock On Lyrics

Hey kid, rock and roll
Rock on, ooh, my soul
Hey kid, boogey too, did ya

Hey shout, summertime blues
Jump up and down in my blue suede shoes
Hey kid, rock and roll, rock on

And where do we go from here
Which is the way that's clear

Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean
(James Dean)

And where do we go from here
Which is the way that's clear

Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean
Jimmy Dean
Rock on
Rock on
Rock on

Hey, hey
Rock and roll
Rock on

Rock on
Hey, hey
Rock and roll
Rock on

Rock on
Hey, hey
Rock and roll
Rock on

Rock on
Hey, hey
Rock and roll
Rock on........

The first one is "Rock On" by David Essex. Not sure about the second one. Sounds like Alannis Morrisette, but I'm not sure.
