Both of my sister's tried it 3-5 years ago and it just made their skin dry and irritated. I havent tried it yet but it seems like it could work.
Does it?

It depends on your skin type and the ingredents in proactive. For me it caused dryness and redness because it contains benzol peroxide which is bad for my skin. You'll have to see a dermatologist before you try it.

It did for me, but one thing you need to remember is that daily/weekly skincare, nutrician, and exercise ALL have an influence on the condition of your skin....

~SKINCARE~

-You will need: Cleanser, Toner (or Astringent), Cotton Balls, Moisturizer, Mask (or Masque), Extractor (found at most beauty supply stores), and either a facial steamer or hand towel for steaming. Whether using ProActive or something else, it's important to stick within that one product line (or brand) and choose ones specifically formulated for your skin type.

-Morning and night (before going to bed): cleanse, tone, and moisturize. For blackheads, clogged pores, etc. 2-3 times a week include steaming in these steps (in this order: cleanse, tone, steam, tone, moisturize).

-Once a week: cleanse, tone, steam, exfoliate, tone, *extractions, tone, mask, tone, moisturize.
*Don't begin doing extractions until you have been following all of the other steps for at least 2 weeks, so that the steaming will have caused the blackheads to begin to soften.

-How to: *
Cleanse -use a small amount and lather with water, apply using circular motions all over face and neck, repeat if you have makeup on
Tone - Squeeze a small amount onto the cottonball and wipe all over face and neck
Steam - for 10-15 minutes, use one of these methods - facial steamer, hold your face 3-5 inches above steaming water, or drape a hot towel over your face (leaving your nostrils and/or mouth exposed)
Exfoliate - follow the same steps as in cleansing, but don't repeat
Extractions - place the hoop (or eye) over the blemish (or blackhead) so that the blemish is in the center of the hoop, apply slight pressure and use rocking and rolling movements all around the blemish (don't use so much pressure that you create indentions or bruises on your skin), if and when the blockage comes out of the pore, wipe away with a cottonball that has been dampened with toner
Mask - apply mask evenly on face and neck, leave for 10-15 minutes, remove by draping a hot towel over your face, then wiping away
Moisturize - apply a small amount on face an neck and massage until it's absorbed
*In all of these steps, always avoid the eye area.

~VITAMINS/MINERALS, DIET, & EXCERCISE~
Each day, include a multivitamin, try to maintain a fairly healthy diet and exercise routine, and drink plenty of water. Also see this site about vitamins and the skin: http://www.prevention.com/article/0,5778,s1-5-53-156-3879-1,00.html. If you take any of these vitamins in addition to your multivitamin, be sure you aren’t going over the recommended dosages.

It works! but You and your sisters might be allergic to it? You should only use it about 2 or 3 times a week though. It contains sulfuric acid which can dry out your skin sometimes. Try to combat it with a non scented moisturising lotion.

It didn't work for me , I use clinique products type 2 because I have dry/ oily skin, I have had better results with clinique, and it's really not all that expensive plus every so often they'll have a free gift that comes with it when you purchase it from a department store.

Depends on the person and their skin issues. Totally DID NOT work for me at all. In fact, made my issues worse. But I do know a lot of people have had success and I also know my condition is a fairly rare.

yes it does work. have a friend who swears by it.

maybe if it does dry your skin out just use a different moisturizer to accompany it ... something really emmolient?

also, the drying effect may be just because it's cleaning out their skin and they weren't used to the feeling of it ... acne does have a way of making your skin more oily than usual.

yes it really does work. but it only works for me if I use it everyday. Like if I skip a day on accident, the next morning Ill regret it. lol But It is worth the money and it does work, from personal experience. The Refining Mask works really REALLY good. You put it on, let it sit for 10 mins and the next morning your blemish is gone. For me it works really good. But I cant promise it will work for you. Everyone is different. good luck!
