I read yesterday it starts back up in January.

You'll have to wait until January, usually around the middle of the month. I too am an Idol fan and watch it religiously every week. My hope is that the talent this year is better than last. I thought there were very few good voices last year, and Taylor Hicks was NOT one of the good ones.

No dear, the try outs are starting up this month. The show comes on in January every year since season 1, its January!!!! People who watch this show every season, should know this by now.

auditions are starting to take place around the country but the show won't be back on tv until mid to late january

yeah theres going to be a season 6. not sure when it starts up thou probably in a month or 2, just watch on tv and there will be advertisments telling you when it's going to start
