I don't know what the odds are, but I grew up in a community where a woman had her tubes tied after having her 7th child. She wanted no more children, done, nada. 2 months later she was pregnant. When the doc did the ultrasound to figure out what happened, he discovered she had a 3rd fallopian tube that he had not seen during surgery or previous ultrasound. Moral of the story, anything is possible. Needless to say, in order to save himself from a lawsuit....the doc paid for the entire pregnancy. And now the family of 7 children has 8 children (I guess someone had an even number in plan and would do what it took to get there! ;)) Best wishes

The chances of pregnancy after a tubal ligation are almost impossible. My doctor told me once that occassionally the "knot" slips, but over all, once it is done and the scarring takes place, the chance of pregnancy is 0%.

about the same as the pill, about 99.9% effective (although i know alot more woman who have gotten preggie on the pil -myself included- than with a tubal) the thing to be careful about after a tubal ligation is a tubal pregnancy.

If you listen to the doctors ,they will probably tell you that it almost never happens,But it does and it happens more often than people know.Though they say the odds are slim, but it could happen and if it has happened for you,or you suspect that you might be,make sure that you see a doctor as soon as you find out because it could be dangerous. Are you having symptoms?

If you're on birth control it's like 1 out of 99. If you have your tubes tide (like I did 3 weeks ago) it's like 1 out of 250 - it's the best form of birth control there is.
