across from my house, there is a privet park. i take my dog there to play fetch. latley i've ben seeing dead anamals, mostly wild birds. only the body of the bird is there but the head gone. what might be killing these animals? and one time i saw a headless rat and one that was just dead. yesterday i saw a whole bunch of feathers everywhere but no trace of blood or the body of the animal. is this thing killing for fun? i've heard that there are coyotes and hawks in my neighborhood. and i live in seattle!!

A park where you often see dead/dying animals and birds is the LAST place I would take my dog! I would immediately suspect some sort of toxic contamination. Please call animal control and report what you've seen. Remember what happened to Times Beach, MO, and Love Canal, NY???
I have no clue about the missing heads. If it is some weirdo or nuthead, then they're probably from your neighborhood, so keep your eyes open. Make sure you take every precaution to protect yourself and your pooch. BTW, give your dog a treat for me!

yuck, it's probably some wild animals like the coyotes or hawks. Try going to a different park if it bothers you

Thats freaky. Maybe Westnile virus is spreading, but i dont think it leaves things headless. I suggest you go to a different park just in case its contagious....

I would call the police, they can determine if it's an animal or some sick-o...either way, having dead animals around is not good/safe/healthy...

it's a cat or a opossum. They are both nocturnal and will eat the head off small animals.

Hawks or falcons. Look on high buildings.

Probably a cat. They like to hunt and sometimes do it for fun, not for food.
