Pen or Pencil?

What do you use when writing:
A pen - you're sure of your ideas OR
A pencil - so you can correct yourself

I use a red pen to write poems about how sad I am that you deleted the question you wrote about me. Are you ashamed of your love? :(

A pencil is useful in most cases. Everyone makes mistakes. You could be the best writer in the entire world and you would still have to use the eraser. It's much easier (and prettier on the paper) to correct your mistakes by getting rid of it than to use the pen and have to scratch out the mistake.

Now, if you were trying to be official, and you were just signing/filling out forms, then a pen would be a excellent idea. However, in most other cases, using a pen can be a pain. For example, last year in school, I had to do weekly tests with my English teacher and he INSISTED that we use a pen or get points off. There would, of course, be problems. The pen would run out of ink, the ink would perhaps spill on your hands, you name the problems. Now, I didn't mind the tests themselves, but trying to do them in nothing but pen was the absolute worst part of them.

With the pencil, however, if your pencil breaks, you can sharpen it, and if you get marks on your skin, it's easier to get off than the pen. Now, a pen is handy at times, but mostly, a pencil is just more reliable.

I make use of pen in most cases... If I made a mistake, I try striking through or cross the words out....I even use the pen when I draw because my hands are morecomfortable with it..

With pencil, that's ok... but I am not satisfied with it in most cases..

Well.....pen seems to be a good answer.....and as far as corrections are concerned, I usually use my computers for any kind of work....so there is no question of using pencil, because what I wish to correct, I get it done on screen itself.

pen at work or at home when writing letters or in a journal. I only use a pencil if I'm doing math.

what ever is closest when i need to write something down, or draw, or get an idea. i guess more american society dictates that a pen is what should be used for most business requirements...

I write with a sketch pen co'z i m 200% sure of what i write.
