Depends, if you have a Diesel I'll go for 10K miles, in gasoline 15K miles. Check the oil brand and specs to confirm this.
Remeber too that independent of the longevity of the oil, you have to change it every 6 months, even if it has little miles on it.

Sorry to all of the others that responded to your question but synthetic oil is a waste of money. The base product of Oil never breaks down, it is the additive package that breaks down and it is the same in synthetics as conventional oil. Unless you are driving car or truck that requires synthetic or a live in a extreme climate save your money. All oils should be change between 3k or 4k.. I have run a 10 min. oil change for 9 years and never recommend synthetics unless the car does. Mobile 1 oil advertise these 5k 10k and 15k oils but if you read the fine print you will see that they will not cover any claims if there is a problem.

you should substitute oil AND filter out each 3 to 6 thousand miles. the project with no longer doing it fairly is that oil gets grimy, inspite of a filter out and the combustion technique contaminates the oil with acid. enable it circulate long sufficient and the filter out clogs so there's no filtration of airborne dirt and dirt and steel debris and the acid builds to the point that it eats away engine factors ultimate to early engine failure. in case you're having to characteristic oil many times then you certainly the two have a leaky gasket someplace or the acid and airborne dirt and dirt have worn factors to the ingredient that your engine is burning oil. in case you notice a bluish smoke popping out of your exhaust you're burning oil.

if its true synthetic then yes thats a good choice because you wont do a complete oil change until about 50k. now if its a blend then 5k regular intervals is fine, hope this helps
