it's a shame how nowdays blacks can use any racial slur they want with no reprocussions but if any other folks do it, the blacks are verrry offended. i am ashamed greatly by this and find that many people will work around alot of words to not offend, even hesitating to call a black person black because they might be offended. i am an american, my skin color is different but i'm no bling bling crack smoking criminal, it makes me very ashamed to see my people like this, that's the entire black culture now days, and if you are a successful black person, other black people will make fun of you calling you a "black whitey" and all this, when will the blacks step up and get some responsibility and stop trying to milk the government for all this crap.

this isn't solely about racial slurs, it's about blacks alienating themselves from the rest of society. i hate the black power bulls**t, prejudice will not stop when we try to love ourselves and pride ourselves on who we our on the outside, but when we love others and have pride in who they are also, supporting them in their differences, but also bringing them together and learning from them.

wow to sherryn, you are truly an ignorant person, i hope one day you can enjoy the magic of diversity. you dont think "white people" have antics that "blacks" hate? if we want to start stereotyping, i could go on all day about things that many "whitebread dorks without rhythm" may do, but i DONT because it just furthers ignorant people like YOU. stop thinking of people with their skin color. you dont know how to deal with your own race obviously, you're just more comfortable around them, stop the racism.

I don't really worry about it. I use the word ****** all the time. It truly is the only word left with any power to it. I can say I want to assrape a nun and no one bats an eye. But if i say ****** watch out. If you really want a funny laugh go around for a day and call people by a racial slur that doesnt correspond to their actual race. then see the look on their face...its priceless

I am a white man and the reason I watch what I say around the black population is because they are the first to scream discrimination.I once got in trouble on a job because I said the company had more black employees than white ones,a co-worker run to management saying I was being rascist.Personally I don't care what other people say about me being white it does not offend me.It seems that some of the black people feal as if they are owed something for thier ancestors being slaves. Is thier freedom not enough?Should they be entitled to more than any other man?

Because so many seem to be carrying loaded guns & using them on anyone & everyone who looks at them the wrong way. Let them kill each other. As a white person, I got enough problems with my own stupid race & I don't need a large, loud, angry black racist coming after me. This is why I AVOID places like Wal-Mart from the first of the month to the tenth! Too many angry 500 pound black women who like to scream at white women & cut into the check-out line! White women do this too, but I know how to deal with my own race, although I would rather just not have to!

Because when a white guy makes a racist comment to a black guy people call it racism but when a black person makes a racist comment to a white person people think of it as a normal comment and I can see why people see it that way because of slavery but that was several generations ago and truthfully the generation just before this one was the time period when when people who were black made more racist comments than anybody else. But racism is still extremely bad in my town and I wish it wasn't that way.

Speaking for myself, I don't walk on egg shells for anyone! I see many colors, but, all are part of the human race. I have some black friends that some could probably call "black whiteys" but it doesn't bother them, they are happy in their successes in life, and you should be too!

Don't be hard on yourself for others who happen to be the same color, there are white people milking the system too..... Everyone has to answer for only themselves!!!

You can't help those who can't/WON'T help themselves!

Have a nice day!

there have been enough black people who have warned (for lack of a better word) white people not to use offensive language. In addition, it seems like the African American or Black (whatever you want to call it) community is on several different pages as to what is offensive to them.

great question, though!

I know what you are describing. I feel like in today's culture it's difficult to know what is or isnt offensive, especially if you don't encounter many black people on a day to day basis. I think sometimes white people 'try' to act normal, to hide their insecurity about how they might seem.

I know exactly how you feel, I come from a very educated family and even in my school (in suburbia) I get called white washed by the "gansta" wannabe kids, just for doing well in school.
