It is suppose to be the brightest sparkling diamond in the world. I think it comes with a bunch of science and reports or something to prove that it is better.

I've heard of the Solasfera diamond. My friend bought one from NYC. It is a round diamond and he showed me all his certificates and books, told me that it was specifically cut and designed to show the most white light and sparkle of any diamond currently available. I saw it myself and it was the best diamond I've seen when compared to 5 other friend's diamonds. I don't know all the specifics but there are a lot of different brand diamonds out there. Most are just a fancy name, but the Solasfera seems to be the real deal and comes with the GIA report and Gemex report. On the Gemex report every Solasfera diamond goes to the end of the graph. That is the only diamond I've ever seen do that. It also has a ton of other tests, ideal scopes, hearts and arrows, and lots of info on why it is the best and brightest diamond. So in my opinion and from what I've seen it is the best diamond out there. No other diamond brand can claim they are the best and still support it with all this proof, like the Solasfera can. It's amazing when you see the difference. I'm going to try to get one next year for the big proposal!!! wish me luck.

Well some diamonds are better than others. And it is important to do as much research as possible to find the diamond that fits you best. First there are a lot of reports out there but GIA is the most respected and the one and only one you should trust. That is a great place to start. The Solasfera diamond uses GIA reports on the website they also use a report called Gemex... Don't know about that report but from the reports the diamond looks damn good. And there are lots to read.

The Solasfera is a specific way of cutting and shaping the diamond named for the man who first cut it that way. When you see a name on a diamond, it's after the cutter. The Leo diamond for example. There are several types that all claim to be the best. Any certified diamond will come with a grading report or "certificate", hence certified. There are several standards for the industry, the GIS, ELG, AGS, IGI, HRD. Each are one specific place's grading scale that they use in house. The Gemological Institute Grade diamonds are mainly found on-line. Most of what you see in stores are ELG and IGI. When the stone is ready to be certified, the jeweler uses the one he/she prefers.
The 4 C's will determine how excellent the stone is. Solasfera diamonds are cut from the highest grade diamonds, but then, so are several others. A high number of facets on a great stone is what makes for such an outstanding brilliance. A short list of some cutters that you will see:

Hearts on Fire
Leo
Solasfera
Theta
Spirit of Flanders
Liberty

There are many, many more out there. Don't get hooked on one specific name, they all claim to be the best. In the gem world, there is no such thing as the best.
