NK Sanders may have been a translator but unless he was born around 4000BC he was not the author. Go to www.sacred-texts.com to see the original translated texts from the clay tablets. There is a Babylonian and Sumerian version.

Actually, the Epic of Gilgamesh was written by the ancient Sumerians and its from this tale that the bible writers came up with the Noah story, so I assume you're referring to a more recent translation of the story.

um yeah, what was written above, the epic of Gilgamesh is an ancient tale that dates pre Christianity, no one knows who wrote it and in truth it was an oral tradition so whomever made it up didn't write it down they told their children and their children's children and so on until it was finally transcribed.
