the correct answer to this question can only be determined by the owner of the vehicle doing a check on the cam belts condition on a weekly basis, some belts are given average usage lifespan but there are other factors to consider , heat, cold rain , chemical, salt
etc all can affect the lifespan of any belt.

you should at least change it at least every 50 thousand miles,,just to be safe,,anything over and it might get you in a spot where you cant change it,,or worse it may jump timing on you always change my customers cars around 50,,and have never had one go bad in between the times i change them,,and use a good quality belt too,,this is very important,,cheap belts,,are exactly what they say they are cheap,,and wont last,,i mechanic for a living,,i hope this help,s.

The company spec for gas engine says every 80,000Km (50,000 miles) but I myself preferred to change it on 60,000Km (about 37,000 miles) because if it fails, suddenly will stop the car!
It's good advice to change its cam belt after a full service (oil, air-filter, batt. check, etc.)
