lol dont undertsand why people cant understand the Q.
Its very true! but at the same time you can chose your family- My husband etc and the daughter we made is of my husbands.
I must admit think of them as more of my family that the one i was born into.
You dont have to stick with your family- if they are bad people -dont see them.
My family's a mixture of good and bad, annoying, thoughtless, interfearing, etc.

There are some people who would tell you that you do choose your family. Before you are reincarnated, so they say, you set up the situation you are going to need to provide you with the lessons you are going to need to learn in this life. Personally I'm not so sure. Maybe I was drunk when I chose my family. I don't know if they serve adult beverages in the waiting area between lives but that's the only reason I can think of to explain why I chose my family.

I'd heard it; " You can pick your friends, but not your relatives "
same thing. I'll just say when it mattered, it was my grandparents. Of course, I miss them very much, they passed away. Presently? I am estranged from my relatives.

A good family, like anything, takes love, work, committment to each other no one from outside should have the power to ruin or manipulate. So when my grandparents passed on, that was my family.

But they passed things onto me they'd never thought stayed, and have proven a real blessing. Love. What it really is.

I love my family so much. I haven't always felt this way but as I have grown up and matured I realize all the love and support of my family is priceless. Each immediate family member has effected my life in such amazing positive ways. I have really been blessed as well with a wonderful extended family through marriage.
I agree we get to pick our friends but our family's are giving to us.

Most families are NOT Norman Rockwell types. In fact, I personally think Norman Rockwell probably lived in a fantasy world of what he would've LIKED family to be.
In today's world, all are too busy running in the rat race to have any resemblance of warm family life.
And if you are one who actually does, you are definitely in the minority. There is absolutely no coping or understanding within the variety of personalities involved in any one family.
Mine included!

I agree. The love for family is out of obligation.
I hate my family, and I disown them numerous times. My relationship with them right now consists of hitting them up for free food.

Just about my entire family has this self-righteous stubbornness to them that doesn't even allow any real converstaion worth happening. It's not worth agruing with them because they never budge. No matter how stoopid or ignorant they are.

You're born between them without your consentment. Whether you like it or not, you have to put up with them. While your friends are chosen by common interests. I don't complain about my family. I'm just different in MANY aspects. I'm not an extremist, I'm more open-minded and it shocks the hell out of them. But I still love them.

You are born in a family, you cant change that. That is why we have to prioritize our family . You'll meet friends and more friends but u'll only have 1 biological family for the rest of your life.

I LOVE that saying. Both sides of my families (mom's and dad's side) are crazy. My dad's side have all been babied by their mother so now they are all grown but are so dependent on their mom helping them with EVERYTHING. On my mom's side, it is a HUGE family (my mom is the youngest of 12 kids!!) so there was a lot of stuff going on. Not that there is anything with gay people but just from my mom's family I have 2 gay uncles and 2 gay cousins and lots of drugs and alcohol going around! LOL
