There are over 270 species of snakes in India out of which about 60 are venomous. This leaves you with alot of choices but not so many that would be suited to captivity.

some Land Snakes:
Common Rat Snake
Indian Rock Python
Regal Python
Boas

Not recommended
INdian Smooth snake
Racers
Green Keelback are nonvenomous but also somewhat uncommon.

You also have alot of water snakes as well as burrowing snakes such as the Sand Boa. Neither of these types would be recommended due to thier habitat demands.
