well apart from a car!
A UK driving licence will be fine, also check your insurance policy will cover you form use abroad, you may need a 'green card' and car rescue/recovery is a wise thing. One that will bring you and car back to UK if all things dont go to plan.
GB sticker, headlamp beam deflector, spare headlamp, side light, indicator and brake bulbs, warning triangle and a first aid kit. Try Halfords, they will have all the stuff there. You could probably get stuf fcheaper but at least you will have list.

Happy motoring.... oh one more thing, you need to drive on the wrong side of the road!!

by law you must have the converters fitted on your headlights (these are yellow stickers designed to bend the beam from the lights to the left) a warning triangle , a first aid kit and have good insurance as in france if a french person hits you it's your fault (found this out threw experience)

I assume that you are asking what are the legal requirements. You need to carry your drivers licence, certificate of insurance which if it doesnt have the international cover listed on it, then you need a letter from your insurer to say that you are legally covered. You need to carry an emergency warning triangle and a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.
