Turn it in to the cops. You don't know what that gun was used for so I would be care full in touching it to. Maybe call your local non emergency police number and let them dispatch someone to the location of the gun. If you have already touched it then just let them know exactly were you found it.

Found a gun where? Pick it up, do not use your hands and take it home and call the police. They will come by to take it from you. You don't want to keep it if it was used in a crime, which is most likely why it was discarded.
If you are a minor, contact the nearest adult and inform them of the situation.

Look in the paper and see if anyone committed a crime in the area recently. If so contact the cops.
Otherwise keep it for self protection, target practice and hunting.
Check to see if it's load, pull the magazine out, if you don't know what a gun is and how to handle it then I'd suggest you give it to someone who know how to . Stupid accidents kill more people then they should..

DON'T TOUCH IT! Call the police and tell them you have found a gun. They will get the information from you as to where it is and when you found it.

I'd keep it. Free gun! I am unaware of any requirement to turn in a gun you find.

Turn it in to the police. You should not keep it. If it was abandoned by someone theres a very good chance it was used in a crime and if you get caught with it later on you can get in big trouble and possibly even charged with the crime it was used in.

dont sell it or take it to a pawn shop cuz the cops will then have the grounds to take you to jail for pawning/selling a "stolen" item (i grant you that it isnt stolen but they will be able to accuse you of stealing it but dont ask me how they can accuse you of stealing it, it is just a loop-hole i guess) . Selling or pawning a stolen or found item is a felony. Call the police.

take it to the police....they generally have whats called a buyback program....they will pay you money for the gun....its not to get rich its an incentive for people to bring forward weapons that are getting into the wrong hands
