That's not why people oppose making abortion illegal.
Abortion is not killing children. Children are what one gets when the zygote has developed, and the resulting baby has been born and lived for a while.
Are you thinking you're going to change someone's mind with this? If you want to change people's minds, you first need to understand what they think and why.

WHAT POOR CHILDREN?
When you speak in general terms it might confuse some of the people IN HERE.
They might think you mean ALL CHILDREN, or those children over there...Please remember we seem to have an abundance of non educated people in here.
First, people just do not go around KILLING children, SOME do but not all.
Second, when speaking of ABORTION you are talking about a fetus...not a CHILD.
BIG DIFFERENCE!
A fetus cannot live outside a womb alone. And if the HOST of the fetus does not want to carry it to term, then SHE has the right to abort IT.
A fetus is not a fully developed PERSON.
NO one would really want to OWN a fetus they are quiet ugly IMO!
COME ON have you never seen a fetus of an animal and a human? Besides tails on some animals you can barely tell them apart!
NO religion or 'god' tells me what to do.
I make my own choices.
Live and breath because I WANT TO.
IF someone is NOT happy with their life it is their business what to do.
WHEN it dies as a result of a MISCARRY which is "GODS" way to ABORT a fetus, then it is OK...WE have to ACCEPT "GODS" will!
Well I am sorry but who IS he to make MY choices?
OR any MAN ??!!
MY BODY does not belong to religion.
IT is MINE.
When my time is up, my spirit goes on.
A spirit from a miscarried being or a aborted being will go ON!
YOU are talking about a few different topics ABORTION RIGHTS, SUICIDE, unloved kids, killing PEOPLE who are not happy...
????!!!!!!
What is YOUR real question? You mixed it all up, what do you really want to know here?
YOU are asking OPINIONS about what?

Sorry, that is a circular argument and I don't share your presuppositions.
For one, I don't see organic matter as a child. It is a bunch of cells and tissue. No more important than a tumor.
It isn't that the parents wouldn't love them if they were born and became living creatures, it is because the parents don't want them to be born or become living creatures. It is the right of an individual to determine whether they will be a parent and just because they didn't agree with the simplistic logic of "you have sex, you deal with the consequences" doesn't mean that they don't have a right to prevent it later on.
Understanding this, of course it isn't acceptable to go around killing people who aren't happy with their life. The difference lies in the definition of life.

I have to admit I have no solid clue as to abortion being right or wrong, but if say it is wrong since murder then I wonder why it is OK to kill other things (prisoners, animals, attackers, homeless by letting them starve+freeze, poor)..also what about control over your body? Do you have none? Does your opinion matter more than my right to my own body? Does your wants and/or needs outweigh my freedom? Does it mean I HAVE to have children since I have life creating, living cells in me? What about tumors? Tumors could be a living thing growing into something else but we try to kill them..should we save them just in case?
If embryo is a living thing then what about our organs? They are living too so why can we get them removed? What about any unhealthy habit since it hurts us..should someone capture us and make us be super healthy to protect our lives?
These are the questions that come from letting the genie out of the bottle on what society can tell you to do about your own body. We already do whatever we can to make sure people don't smoke...soon it will be cheeseburgers, then any fried food, then soda..soo we will all be kept in padded cells with formula food and locked up for our own safety to preserve the "sanctity of life"

The abortion issue has never been about abortion, it has always been about women's health. Women were DYING becasue of illegal abortions, and many people over the past 30 years have fought hard to maintain women's health. If you don't like abortion, don't have one. If you want to stop someone else from having an abortion, adopt their child, and provide day care for the children that are born. If you are doing nothing to solve the problem, then what are you doing? Do you think that women should die from illegal abortions?

I think fetus have right only if they are going to born....
Like if a mother take's drug and make damage to the baby that born, or die after 7 month, relatively because of the mistreatement cause my the mother.
We can't say abortion is illegal. We dont have the right to say,
: ok you have been raped but you have to keep the baby, even if you can't or don't want to...
But abortion is too much often used as a contraception....
And it's not..
We need better education..religion is a big problem.
O and we say, : no abortion, but no condom....wow.....this is supposed to be progress? It's barbaric...

I don't think that abortion is right because not only is it a sin to kill anyone especially an innocent baby but it is due to irresponsibility of people that they become pregnant when they know they aren't ready for that responsibility. Especially when there are contraceptive on the market to prevent abortion from happening.

For those that say abortion is not ok because killing is wrong...let me ask this: do you believe in the death penalty? what would you do if someone was coming after you to KILL you, your spouse or your children? is killing someone in self-defense ok? What about WAR? are all the deaths happening in this war with IRAQ "right" or "wrong"?? What about the woman who DROWNED her 5 children...which she had because her religion and her husband kept having her get pregnant despite the OBVIOUS and REPEATED attempts on her own life and psychiatric problems?? Who's to blame in THAT situation??
Like the answers to those questions, abortion is NOT a black & white issue... the fact of the matter is, abortion has taken place for THOUSANDS of years...it's been practiced in most every society & culture in history. Legalizing abortion is NOT about FORCING women to have abortions...it's simply about giving women a choice about what happens to THEIR bodies!
In the US, abortions have been performed for a hundred years before it was legal...if a woman was wealthy enough, she could actually afford to pay a real doctor...or, she could travel to a country where the procedure was legal. Poor women were the ones who suffered the most during that time....back alley abortions, clothes hangers, butcher knives.
Women had NO say in what happened to their bodies for so long...a woman's father/brother told them when and to whom they should marry. Their husband chose if and when they would have sex/children. A husband could FORCIBLY have sex with his wife and that was condoned behavior!! Imagine that....legally being able to RAPE your wife?? But it happened ALL THE TIME!!
With legal birth control...and then legalized abortion...women FINALLY had a say about what happens to their own body!! Imagine that...freedom to CHOOSE. NO ONE who is pro-choice thinks that every woman under every circumstance should have an abortion...NO...it's about having the freedom to decide. There are plenty of women, myself included, who would NOT choose to have an abortion....but my choice may not be the right choice for everyone!
The difference between the Pro-choice and Anti-choice lobbies...is one is about leaving the decision up to the individual...the other is about forcing their beliefs and mores onto others...

If you are truely that concerned about these "poor children" why don't you take them in and raise them when they are born? Abortion is a womans choice-if you don't agree with it thats fine-stop trying to force your viewpoint on other people and try to mind your own damn business.

That's a dumb thing to say, and if your saying kid's won't be raised well, let's consider the subject of gay marriage and abortion-oh God forbid two men or two women raise a child in a loving, caring environment, as opposed to by an alcoholic mom and and absent dad.
A BALL OF CELLS IS NOT A PERSON!!!
