The fact that they are predators, some are poisonous, and their graceful movement as they walk... people seem to totally freak out over webs too. The media has also taken part by putting out scary movies specifically about spiders. I personally love spiders because they protect me from the bugs that do scare or bother me. Oh, and you should always keep spiders in the corners of your houses, they will help to prevent termites and if you let them stay in your doorways, they will reduce the number of flies or moths that enter your house as you go in an out. Gotta love those spiders!
I refuse to kill a spider unless it is potentially deadly, such as a black widow. Otherwise, live and let live. For those of you who are scared of them, keep in mind you should never squash, some carry their young on their back then you'll have them all over your foot and house unless you can kill them all in time. Wolf Spiders are one type which carries them on their backs (they are prominant in Central Coast, CA areas).

u do have a point. I think for some people its the thought that spiders have pretty good senses, and with all the documentaries and crap on TV these days, people learn that spiders arent as helpless as they may have thought. personally, when I see a spider I am scared of it because of its legs. I always think it can jump on me faster than I could be able to react to it. I hate them

uk spiders don't have fangs sturdy or super sufficient to pierce human epidermis. I actually have a sort of REALLYbig issues in my front room it pops out each and every now and then and crawls up the wall, i think of they're in basic terms previous spiders that have grown plenty. i don't possibly techniques them inspite of the incontrovertible fact that as i'm getting lined in spiders daily at artwork.

You are so right. I hate those nasty things too. But I'm sure it's arachnaphobia, because I also hate scorpions. I can squish a cockroach no problem, but when I saw a huge wolf spider nimbley run across a wall last night, I had to scream for my husband to kill it for me.

i think they discovered that human phobia of spiders goes back to our primal survival. Thousands of years ago by running from a spider we wouldnt get bitten, poisoned & die.
I guess those with no fear...either have evolved or would have died.

spiders are cool, they eat mosquitoes so do bats. Anything that eats mosquitoes is awesome in my book.
