no you can't do that with a yahoo messenger, i know you can talk to Japan, China and Taiwan but it doesn't accept the yahoo.uk or anything like that which is really stupid because they made it but i use MSN's messenger for talking to people in other countries. But if they IM you on Yahoo and you add there name to your yahoo messenger it should work

when you go to yahoo chat it gives you the option to choice which country you want hit that and find the one you want hope this helps..heres link just hit the one you want
