it isn't a 2 week destination. We tend to go as stopovers. There is a direct flight to Koh Samui from Singapore which is quite cheap. Depends on when you are going though. Check the weather stats. The other great place to go to is Bali. It is magical. We went to Sanur which is a lot quieter than Kuta where the horrific bombing was. I would say Singapore for 4 or 5 days.Pity this is just for answers and not discussions!! I have given a link to a trip report I did on Singapore/Bali, if you could be bothered to read it. It is quite long!!!:)
edit to add
forget all the bird flu scaremongering. If you don't intend to live amongst poultry you should be ok!

Do you have family in S'pore? Coz if you're flying away so soon, your family back in S'pore will be upset. Anyhow, you can visit Penang, Malaysia or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They're having the Malaysian Mega Sale now.
Either that, Hong Kong, China, Japan or Korea.
Avoid Indonesia and Thailand due to the bird flue crisis. Otherwise, Bangkok/ Haadyai will be great for shoppers.
It depends on what you're looking for. Shopping? Beach resorts?
Beach: You can try Pulau Redang, Terengganu, Malaysia if they're not close for the monsoon season. It's beautiful. Go there before the beach is spoilt. Oh.... Penang has beautiful beaches too at Batu Ferringhi. and the whole stretch! Plus it's a shopping and eating heaven.
Have fun!

\you can go by bus just over the border to southern Malaysia, or book a flight to Malaysia, Thailand or Indonesia. I knwo the bus to Kuala Lumpar is only 6 hours ona luxury coach.
airasia.com are a local malaysia based budget airline, so it wuld be worth seeing where they go. You could get to Bali, or Borneo.
There is also a ferry over to Sumatra (Indonesia)
It depends what you want to do, what you are interested in and what sort of accomodation you want.
I don't recommend Penang personally. THe beach may look nice but the sea is filthy, and after spending 10 weeks travelling Malaysia, I thought it was the worst place I visited.
Have a good time!

Try the Virgo Star Cruise in Singapore. You will visit many destinations in SE Asia. It is cheapest booking it whilst in Singapore.

Go to malaysia
(west malaysia, consider Johor & Kuala lumpur) as it's nearer
East Malaysia..consider Penang.
Further away, a nice spot to visit will be Thailand (Bangkok)
Even further away will be Hong Kong & Taiwan.
Do a read up on the above mentioned places and plan wisely. it really depends on ur interest, wat u wan to do, to buy, to see etc..
if u thinking of relaxing by the beach, can consider Phuket, Bali or Bintan.
