why does only a small portion of people wait till marriage to have sex anymore? has society become this self serving, that morals don't hold up anymore?

so if you love someone, you would not be with them if they could not satisfy you in bed? is that what is really important?

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 & 1 Corinthians 7:1-2
"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."

dont listen to Molly, she does not know what she is talking about. people do not stray because they are unsatisfied, they stray because they are not committed. peoples word does not mean anything anymore.

Society has changed, we are different than we used to be. There are still those out there that still uphold on the morals. I believe it's just about what you believe, your culture and so forth. Sex used to be so taboo, now it's so much more out there in your face like on tv, advertisements and so forth. Its also what you've been taught as well, everyone is different. For some, they don't want a spouse who can't gratify them like they want for the rest of their lives, other people the sex isn't so important, its the person to whom they are marrying. We are all different, have different perceptions. We shouldn't bash those that have different views on this, but just live our lives the way we would like to, whether we want to wait until marriage to have sex, or do it before.

I know, it's sad. I'm personally waiting till marriage. It's sad that people now see sex as something not-so-intimiate, something that doesn't require a spiritual bond (which is marriage) to be made prior to the physical bond. I think the fact that people don't look at marriage religiously much anymore is the reason why people see sex after and before marriage as equivalent. Technically if you only believe in a legal marriage, then yeah that's true. But I believe in the holiness of marriage, so that's why I don't want to do it before then.

I have not been able to find anywhere in the Bible that says we must wait until marriage to have sex. It talks a lot about staying away from sexual immorality. I tried to find out what this means but the best answer I could find was that you should not have sex with prostitutes, relatives, animals or other people husbands or wives. If someone could show me the verse where it states we are to remain a virgin until marriage please tell me cause I cannot find it. To answer your question I think its because we are waiting longer and longer to get married. People used to get married very young and so it was not a big deal to wait. Now you have a lot of people waiting until their 30s to get married. I think not as many people in the past waited to have sex as we would like to think. I'm sure more did then than do now but I'm sure a lot of people got married because they were going to have a child. In the not so distant past 1700s and 1800s people would invite a man, they wanted to marry their daughter to, to stay in their house then have him sleep in the same bed as her but put a board down the middle of the bed...to keep them apart or sew him into a kind of sack to keep them from having sex..I doubt either method was very successful and was not intended to be successful.

Yes it has. Just look at the divorce rate-rising like the heat in hell. That is a self serving act. You are not concerned about the well being of your spouse or anyone else that may be effected by it. That is how the world works and there is nothing we can do about it. but you are doing good if you are waiting!!! Good Luck.

Yes, sexual compatibility really IS that important. It's the one thing you really have to feel the same way about, because it's the one thing that will cause people to stray or feel unloved/depressed if unsatisfied. I think it's very important to make sure you can satisfy and be satisfied in a relationship before binding yourself to that person forever.

Because not everyone feels that it is necessary to wait for marriage. Plus, if you wait until you are married, what if the person you marry does not satisfy you in bed?

People are not attending churches, and parents to often "give them a choice" regarding church-going. I don't know why...do they give them a "choice" about going to school?? Plus, some people don't practice things that keep them away from being tempted...they seem to want instant gratification.

nothing to do with morality, it is about a freedom to choose and enjoy, the only thing this shall be in a responsible manner,
also if you think this is self serving think it twice, maybe not to do it could be self serving too.
