Without any other info it is hard to tell. I will answer this as if it was in a voodoo doll. In actuality voodoo dolls are not done to hurt or to curse. Instead they are a healing tool. Think in terms of acupuncture, and the doll is the representative of you. The nails (color doesn't matter) are put into a certain area to release negative energy. The funny thing is that the uniformed that try to use it to curse end up doing some healing majik and end up also giving themselves for pain (you get back what you do 3 times over ) .

As to "black majik" , there is no such thing majik is majik. It is the intent of the person that uses it that makes it good or bad. Also a curse only works if you allow it. There is no sure fire curse that always work, because of this. It only works if you believe you are so afflicted.

Yes I think it is an example of a black magic.I have had a bad axperience 29 years ago..In 1977 I suffered a rheumatical disease. My ankle joints were swollen. My wife took me to a supernatural man,She believed him because at that time her relative went to him curing his illness and got healing. The man called dukun or witched man,had many patients who had different kinds of working and scholar backgrounds.I did not so believed him but I should try him as an effort of healing.I went to visit him in the beginning of evening at went back home at midnight almost everyday. He used a little knife or dagger to search something in my body.He found out some hairs, little nails or needles on my joint and on my back or sometimes a red and hot peppers.I did not believe that those were come out of my ankle but, because I did not have a very bad hurt if any foreign thing was embedded in my body. I could not have evidence.
All things that had come out from my body should be thrown to the river when I went back home.
After severals times I consulted to him,he told me that my disease which was made by one of my friends, but he did not tell his/her name.So I did not believe him, because in islamic teaching we can not give a wrong accusation to someone without a factual evidence.I will have a sin if I believe him.At the end he told me that I should give him some money to buy something that was difficult to be found such as a horse fish and all parts black hen and black goat.He told me the the made man disease had been brought out from my body. But two weeks later I had the same illness symthoms and consulted again to him.Surprisingly he told me that my disease was my genetic illness which could not be cured. That was the evidence of a lie.

Nails? The metal nails you buy at the hardware store? Ouch...
Well I can't think of anything besides the symbolism of nails (fasteners, bindings), iron (protective earthly energy or infernal energy, strength, ect), or the number three.
I doubt it's supposed to be black magic because the power of black magic is nothing more than fear. It can't hurt you unless you believe in it.
