Absolutely not. Many moms are waiting longer to start their families due to the pressures of relationships and careers so I think it's wonderful that older mothers are able to have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies these days.

It is perfectly fine to have a baby at 41. I was 38 when I had my youngest. There are a few possible complications with an older mom, such as Gestational Diabetes. You will probably be classified "high-risk" and will see the doctor a little more often. A good friend of mine had her first baby at 41 and then adopted a baby from China when she was 47. She and her husband and the 2 kids are a delightful, happy family.

No. I don't think it's too old. But, medically, the older you are the more risk to the baby. So I think that if a perfectly healthy 41 year old woman works closely with her OB, then there's no reason she shouldn't enjoy the love of a child.

Even though you're healthy, your pregnancy will be classified as "high risk" just due to your age. But many women have perfectly healthy pregnancies in their early 40s (my mom did at 40 and her mom did at 44.) The risk of certain birth defects is higher over 35, but for the most part the risk is still very low. I'm 36 and plan to try to get pregnant at the start of the year... I say go for it!

I think it is just fine to have a baby at this age!
I mean, the way technology is today... there are so many things out there just for women of age to have normal healthy pregnancies!!!
I say go for it!!!! Just be sure and see an ob/gyn during the whole pregnancy to keep you & the baby safe as possible!!!
I have known several women from the area who have chosen to give birth later in there lives & they have done exceptionally well!!!
Good Luck!!!

of course!...there are extra precautions to take and if you want siblings may want them sooner or later but 41 is still quite young. My only issue with older moms is that the children will be robbed of of parents when they reach adulthood. If you have a child within the year , you will still only be 62 when the baby is 20...very young!!!!

As long as you're healthy and talk with your Dr. about your specific case...then I say go for it. You may need some additional testing during your pregnancy simply due to your age, but if your Dr. gives you the green light and a child is what you really want...then go for it. Just remember they don't stay babies forever...they do grow up, make sure you want to raise another child...not just have a baby.
Good luck!!

I don't see anything wrong with it. but you are going to have to be really careful doctors say having baby's older is a higher risk. My step mom just had one an she is 43yrs old. She had no problems at all she was always in good health an eat right when she was pregnant. i say go for it

No it's not too old. and it's not anyones decision but your own....I am 38 and wil be 39 when I have this baby that is due feb 2.....there are some extra precausions to make after 35, but the pregnancy can go perfectly smooth with good prenatal care.
