Yes - I was born in the 50's too, and I started getting into music in the early 60's, so sure, I love 60's music, but then again there's music from every decade since that I love. For me, the 60's was the starting point - I'm still getting into new music.

Obscessive. I'm a crazy, nutty, obscessive fan. I enjoy the well-known stuff (Dylan, Hendrix, Neil Young, etc) but have lately been getting into the more obscure, strange, wonderful psychedelia. Like, have you ever seen the Nuggets II boxset (obscure, mostly British music from the mid to late 60's)? This is one of the greatest collections of music ever. Do you know The Move? Awsome band! How about The Zombies? They're so great they make me wanna cry. The Pretty Things, The Small Faces -- all the above are British bands that never quite made it in America, but were amazing. Here's a recent discovery of mine: "A Gift from Euphoria" by a band called "Euphoria". I would suggest ordering it from Amazon RIGHT NOW!
You can send me a message if you wanna chat! I'm at work & I'm bored! What are your favorites?

Some of the 60's stuff is mint. The Beatles, the Stones, Johnny Cash, The doors (when they weren't doing 5 minute organ solos), Hendrix. There was some utter tripe as well, mind you. Just that people tend to forget that and view the entire period through rose tinted specs. It'll happen with the present music scene too, but people will still remember that f'ing frog

60s music was great.
Proper instruments and vocals.
They just stood there belted out a song that was original and with some sense of a tune. most still popular today
Today's C rap= can't sing can't play an instrument, so will be a boy band or a bunch of girlie's wearing next to nothing trying to dance in the hope that no one will notice how shi*te the so called music is.most tunes forgotten after 5 minutes, and this bunch of no hopers managed to kill of top of the pops after 40 odd years

Yes - I just bought 'nuggets' yesterday. It's a really good compilation of bands from the first era of psychadelia 65-68. I love 60's music. It's where all decent bands that are around today get their inspiration i think.
