I was a little nervous at first but I loved college. I hated high school. And I was finally away from home. I found some nice friends and I learned to mostly pick classes I had fun with.

Join clubs. Meet people.

I was definitely nervous at first. It was the first time I'd lived away from home, and I was only 17. After the first week or so, though, I made some friends, and embraced my newfound freedom. It was a really important part of my life because it helped me to be more independent.

I'm starting college in the fall. I don't believe that I'm nervous about living away from home (I was part of a residential high school for two years) but I am nervous about making new friends.

Yes, I moved 4 hours from home for college. I was so scared, but it was a really good experience. It helped me grow up and become independent. Now I'm moving away from friends, boyfriend and family to go to grad school, and I'm scared, but also excited because I know I'll be a better person for it. Good luck!

Going to college was a great experience. There was curiosity and a new found freedom. What I never dared while I was at school I did at the first opportunity in a college. You know what! Bunk classes and watch a matinee show. We were encouraged to ask questions in the classroom which I never did in school since we were very scared of our teachers. It gave me confidence, courage and ability to be on my own and intelligently reason out and evaluate situations the stepping stones for success in my future life.

I wasn't nervous about college but I was scared to death of starting high school. I took summer school the summer before freshman year so that I would know the school, etc. I was able to graduate early in January instead of June so it worked out all around.

Yes, so nervous and worried about things that could happen, I never went. Not complaining too much, I have success and all without a degree, but I missed out on a lot of experiences that all my friends went through. I wish that I wouldn't have been such a worry wart and gone.
