I don't know if gay people are born with a homosexual inclination, but for the sake of argument here, I'll concede for the moment that they are.
Other people are born with other inclinations, though -- bestiality, pedophilia, incest, and so on.
Does this mean that it's okay to act on the inclinations -- just because we have them?
Having the inclination toward a behavior is not necessarily a God-given green light to engage in said behavior. It depends on what it is.
With homosexuality, acting on the inclination toward the behavior is morally illicit, because it goes against the order of God's design for His creation -- namely, that He created us to be sexually complementary. He created roughly half of us male, and roughly half of us female.
In so doing, God made us partners in His ongoing creative work. Homosexual acts deny that partnership. They go entirely against it. It's God's will, but homosexual acts are in denial of it.

I have had a lesbian encounter, and have repented of my sins and will not turn back. All gay people can turn from their ways and be pure. They are free to marry just like the rest of us. A gay guy can marry a woman, just like I can marry a man. There's already equality.

Homosexuals are not hurting anyone. Pedophiles and rapists are.
Some interesting things that Jesus said:
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." -Matthew 7:1-2
"Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
-Matthew 9:19
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." -Matthew 7:15
Anyone preaching hatred against homosexuals is, by Jesus' teachings, a false prophet.
Any Christian who hates someone because of who they are is a very bad Christian.

Rapists, pedophiles and murderers DO have rights. From jail, they have these rights.
You say you had a lesbian encounter, but you turned, fine that worked for you. But you cannot presume to speak for every gay person in the world. I have tried to be straight, for years and years, and it has not worked for me. I cannot be something I am not. And you say, your religion says being gay is a sin and acting on it is morally illicit. Well, the bible was written how many years ago? What makes everyone think God can't change his mind?
Being gay doesn't hurt anybody-being a murderer, pedophile, and a rapist DOES. It hurts it's VICTIMS. Women or men who are raped go through years of trauma-some never recover. People who are murdered, their families are hurt and devastated by what's left behind. I don't even need to speak on pedophilia. Beastiality is a category all it's own. A horse or a dog cannot consent to having sex with a human. But my girlfriend, who is a legal adult, can consent to be with me, no objections.
So how does my being gay hurt you? It shouldn't. It's my life, you've no need to worry about what I do with my life. If it is as you say, fine, God will judge me in the end, but he will judge everyone else, too.
God made me gay, I hardly think he would have made me to be who I am and deny what I feel inside me. I hardly think He would create me to be the being that I am and then cast me into hell. He does not make mistakes. That's the God I believe in. And because I live in the US of A, I have the right to believe what I want to believe in, and I believe my being gay is NOT a sin. But you know what? Separation of church and state in this country, isn't it? And as long as I am not hurting anyone, no one can deny me the right to love another woman.

Most people will probably answer this question with anger or outrage, I will not. However, I will answer your question from a Lesbian point of view and be fair about it.
Gay sex is between 2 consenting adults, where as the other examples you gave are not. It is between to mutually loving, caring people who want to share their lives with each other, again - the examples you give are not. However a gay relationship is much like a straight relationship of support and concern for each others well being. That is all I'm going to say about gay sex and relationships.
As for the civil rights: I have stated above that same-sex relationships are the same as different-sex relationships, with the exception that they are of the same gender. Why should that healthy and nurturing relationship not be given the same rights as an opposite-gender relationship? You say because it is of God's design. Unfortunately by that statement you are forcing me to listen to your God's rules. I am obviously of a different religion than you because my God blesses us. The Constitution was written with freedom of religion and separation of church and state. What that means is that not only can you not make me listen to your God's rules, your God can not influence the government either.
Now I have a few questions for you - how is my marriage affecting you? How does my marriage hurt or harm you directly? And how much will you gain by my marriage not existing?

i have been gay since i was 4 years old.....least i knew it then. i am now 39 and have still never been with a man. it is not an inclination, it is my life. if i could choose to be straight, i most assuredly would.....the man going to work, me at home with the babies, white picket fence, that's the life for me. it is never been a choice. i don't want any better rights than you nor anybody else, just the same. and
as far as rapists and murderers, how dare you lump them with gays. and most pedophiles are straight white men.
Are you a gang banger? live off welfare? have 7 kids by 6 different daddies? drive your caddy to go pick up your food stamps? probably not....stereo types will mist your eyes and cover your heart in fog in the long run.
Walk with God a little longer, darling.....
MY God preaches LOVE, not judgment. we were put here to get along with one another and understand one another, give that a shot for awhile....you would probably be a better friend and feel better all over if you just loved instead of wondered about how OUR Lord is gonna judge us.
God Bless

I could argue the religious morality of homosexuality: there are arguments to be made. But, I don't have to. You made this easy for me. The sole basis of your morality argument is based on religion (as it has to be, because no other argument holds up). Here in America, we believe that one person's religion shouldn't place restrictions on the rights of anyone else. All of the other crimes you've mentioned can be viewed as wrong through a lens of secular morality: they impede on someone else's freedom. Despite what you may have been told, by expanding rights to include gay people, you aren't losing anything. This is called the zero-sum fallacy; people automatically assume that if someone else gains something, it MUST mean that they lose something. From a secular standpoint, it is ok to act on what ever inclinations you have so long as they're not hurting anyone or impeding on anyone else's rights.

Because homosexuality isn't an act of violence against another. Being homosexual includes consent of two adults.
Rape is a crime of violence and control against an unconsenting victim.
Murder is a crime of violence and control against an unconsenting victim.
Pedophilia is a crime of violence and control against a person who does not have the capability to consent. A child cannot consent to what an authority figure does.
When there is consent between two people, where is the crime?
You used completely unrelated examples to compare this. These are nothing alike. You may not believe homosexuality is moral, but everyone in the world agrees that murder, rape, and pedophilia are intolerable.

I think they deserve the same rights b/c they are people. Any group in history that has been discriminated against (esp the african american population), want to have equal rights. They don't want to be different. In my opinion, as people they deserve the same rights. But when it comes to marriage, I do not think that applies to gays. Marriage is a holy union between a male and a female.
To answer the second part of the question, I do not think rapists, peds, and murderers should have any rights. They violated somebody else's rights so they deserve to have their rights revoked. The justice system is too lenient in this sense. I mean some people in prison arel iving better lives than hard working americans. The irony of it is we, as taxpayers, foot the bill for their hotel stay. In prison you should have nothing but your 4 walls, a toilet and sink.

There is an important difference Julia Homosexual love is between consenting adults where as the horrid conditions you are talking about are not. Rape is sex with no consent and pedophilia is against a person who is unable to give consent. So your entire argument is based on comparing apples to oranges. Homosexuals deserve the rights that God grants to all who love and accept him.

They don't want the same rights, they want to go far beyond that. They want the schools, in the kindergarten level, to teach that family includes homosexual families, that it is a perfectly acceptable way of showing love. They want to redefine the meaning of marriage and have all the rights to property that married couples have.
Addendum: Incest is reported in the bible. Where do you see it being approved? Show me chapter and verse, old or new, that clearly states "Incest is approved as an acceptable behavior."

I was a gay man secretly hiding and married a woman. I was miserable. The lady now my ex-wife is my best friend and loves me. She is proud that I did what I had to do. Tell her I was gay and wanted a divocre. This allowed her to find true love as it has me.
As for you speach about GOD. Let him judge me someday, as he will you. However, until you meet him face-to face and he speacks directly to you do not tell me what he thinks. The bible which all christian refer to has changed, translated several times during the course of the last several thousand years or so. Also remember it was written by man and was his interpitation of what GOD ment. Not what God said.
Also let's not forget the 1000's of documents hidden away by the vatican that few has seen or read. What all do they say?
Last as far as deserving rights. Rapists, pedophiles and murders have rights to marry. they are many of them married serving time in jail or on parole. Thier marriages have been blessed by the church. So why can we not expect the same?
