Because it is part of the natural process. We are born, we procreate, we die. In the process we live and love. What greater love is there than to bring a new joy into the world? Despite whatever pain is caused by childbirth, the joy of holding your precious baby in your arms afterwards completely overshadows it.
Also, keep in mind, that in this day and age there are a plethora of options to deaden the pain of childbirth. With these, the pain is comparably minimal, and is a valid option for many women.
If you have ever had children, you know the joy of holding your own baby. Pain is the farthest thing from your mind. Intense love for the little soul is the closest.

you must be kidding, right? Pregnancy, wanted or unwanted bonds a mother and her child. You love it as soon as you find out you are pregnant. It's a very natural thing. Yes labor and delivery are very painful. Raising a child on your own or with a partner isn't easy either. Nothing is life that is worth something or important usually ever is. The pain of child birth is gone after delivery, and then you have this tiny little miracle to love and take care of...there is nothing weird or un natural about that. I hope you were just kidding...raising children is an amazing thing for both parents. Taking responsibility for your choices is the right and mature thing to do in Every aspect of life and is how we separate immature children from adults. Good luck to you.

Well, first off, a child to me is the best thing ever created... although they don't always return the same amount of love... and as soon as they are old enough to leave you, they will... and they don't ever really pay back the money you spend on them... they are still the best.
Second... It is painful and thats why they give you drugs... then it is more like a pressure and not a pain... and some women opt to give birth via C-section... so they are sedated and can't feel a thing.
Last but not least, it is to some women what makes them whole~ or at least feel whole.
those are just a few reasons... the list goes on and on.

attention all men! be a witness... a Revelation... raveen s acknowledges the very sacrifice women makes to be a mother...having said that...you should now take in consideration this thought before someone even thinks of leaving their wives and children to be with another.
Giving the responsibility to give birth is just the start of being a mother...one (or both parents) has to shower love and care to their children so that they will grow up to be good natured human beings. Remember this... for i know -you have someone who gave you the very same thing i mentioned --your own mother (and father)..

I'm gonna give birth soon it wasn't a planned pregnancy but I'm glad I'm going to have this baby,it is painful and its work but you obviously have never held a new life in your arms when they are just born they take their little hand and grasp at you're finger ....its just so beautiful and when you're child says Mommy or daddy for the first time i swear i felt like superman like i could do anything.

ya'll have obviously never had a child... I have so here's the scoop. YES childbirth is excrutiatingly painful. BUT the pain is temporary and as soon as we hold our babies in our arms for the first time, we forget all about the pain. being a mother is extremely rewarding, and it's a 2 way gift that pays over and over for life!

Its worth it, I have had two children , and yes giving birth hurts, but I still want to do it again. I loved being pregnant and feeling the baby move and planning for a baby, I loved breastfeeding, I love playing with my two now that they are toddlers and watching them learn new things everyday, its awesome.

What are you asking? Why mothers feel responisible for their kids?
Because we don't get the option of just walking away. This child grows in us and we love it from day one. A man would never understand how it feels to have another life inside you.
