Yes, some people are suffer from severe boredom, they don't have or want a life. Some people only want to express their opinions. No, not loneliness, once you're at the computer may as well fill in the gaps with answers one can really contribute to. You will find a know-it-all in every crowd: a beauty queen, Mr. Universe, a genius, a clown, the life of the party, there is always one of each in every crowd. Perhaps some do learn from others' opinions, although one is responsible for one's decisions therefrom. I guess one can anonymously respond or ask without fear of actually revealing one's identity. Responses and queries can be criticized but anonymity prevails.

Yes to all of the questions.
Plus some of the questions are genuine and being older I have some perspective and my answers can help. I get a kick out of receiving best answers.

very good question - people are so bored i think...but at the same time we are just trying to avoid ourselves by being on a computer or reading a book or whatever....we look outside of ourselves to fill a void...it's much harder to look inside ourselves. Yahoo, like so many other things helps keep us distracted.

Yes , for all your questions.
We are trying to learn it all.
Here if we spend time more wisely, we could find many things that we have never thought of. And by this, we can actually make all our boring time worthy

"There can be no doubt that we have issues with our egos, name recognition, friendships, communication with others and an interest in improving ourselves ... if possible."
Probably, the most significant item to consider is that we voluntarily submit information of the most intimate nature about ourselves to a faceless database that might have many uses for it far beyond the little answer game we attempt to enjoy.
