Only you can really answer this question. If you feel comfortable enough to give out your phone number, then you should do it. Yes, you need to be safe and protect yourself. But, you also need to live your life. Follow the safety tips in the links below.
Also, if you're under age, you should be extra careful.
If you eventually decide to meet him: Some sites say meet at a public place. I say even more so, meet in a crowded public place and maybe have a friend there with you. Don't leave with him, no matter how much you like him.

uh no that would be a Really Bad choice what if its jus a Kid
on the internet would u give an unmature kid ur number
cause if they call from private they might prank call u and thats
Really annoying fone Problem so no i would not want to do
that cause it sounds,Dumb,Stupid and Crazy and its not safe
at all what if he jus wants Sex from u like u don't know he might

Get his number and call from an anonymous location to check him out. Then uses reverse phone lookup or US Serach (http://www.ussearch.com/) to do a criminal background check online. Its only around $20

I'd wait another month just to see if he's for real. Giving some one your phone number is no big deal, just dont give him your address. The most you should give him is your city.
