the Ipod is garbage. i have had 3 already and they all broke within 6 months of me owning them. DO NOT EVER BUY ANOTHER IPOD. apple customer service sux, their products suck, and the ipod scratches easy as hell. I would recommend the CREATIVE Zen. It has more features than the ipod and has a longer battery, it is also a lot more durable than the ipod..

You cannot trade an old ipod in for a newer one through Apple. You can purchase a new one, and then possibly sell your old one to a friend or on e-bay.

There is an economic term called supply and demand. Since demand for Ipods has remained very high the price has not changed much at all. Ebaying will save you several bucks, but with demand being so high just buy one from a Target and apply for the 10% off card.

No you can get maybe a 10% discount from apple or sell it yourself on ebay or to a friend.
