I wouldn't say it's bad as in evil.
I would say it's bad as in inferior quality. I remember when the M in MTV stood for Music and not Mediocre.
When MTV started in the early 1980s, most of the programming was music videos. Many of the videos had artistic value that went well beyond the music (if they ever do another top 100 videos of all time show, make note of the disproportionate number of videos from before 1990), and I enjoyed watching. Now. music videos are only a small part of the programming and have been replaced by reality shows and other crap.

Listen to the title of this "enteraintment show" Music Television not 10 minutes of commercials and "The Real World" In the real real world, people find out about a channel called MTV (music television) get their little hopes up, and expect to see some music. They won't very rarely. Shame on you MTV! Your lying to the public. Try watching IMF the international music feed, their exactly opposite of the dreaded MTV. If you don't have it, you should order it. Beleive me.

We have been talking about this in my pop-culture class. Think about about it as a foriegner watching it, who has never been here. And we wonder why some of them hate us?! MTV is in every country, but not many other american shows are, to conteract the things seen on MTV. What would you think if you thought everyone here walked around dressed like Madonna, or acting like Marylin Manson. Of course we know that is not the reality of our society, for the most part. But others actually believe that what is on those Music Videos are actually how we dress and act on a daily basis here. I myself don't mind it, but is not much good anymore since there isn't much music on there anymore. Needs to be renamed from MTV to RSTV (reality shows tv).

because MTV shows nothing but crap, it stands for music television and they dont even show music, MTV SUUUUUUCKS
And for the record, Channel 28 in New York City is ESPN and thats a REAL TV Station

MTV is OK in my opinion.
You must also know that it is not CH 28 everywhere. Only your local area gets it on 28. I get it on 35 for example.

i dont think its bad i just think its crap.....it didnt used to be...i can remember when mtv first aired...there was no vh1 back then...mtv was just music videos and that was about it...but we were okay with that because thats all we wanted...now theres all kinds of junk on there
