We mow and by the next morning these patches of tall grass grow about an 1 overnight. It appears to be a light green with two leaves. We have pulled bags of this grass out of our lawn and it keeps spreading. Does anyone have NICE suggestions on how to kill this stuff!

This sounds like crab grass. It grows phenomenally fast! The best way is to make sure it doesn't sprout next year by applying pre-emergent to your lawn that keeps weeds like this from sprouting. In my area we start adding pre-emergent and fertilizers in February and March in the beginning of active growing season and it is applied every six weeks to control various seasonal broad leafed weeds. A good local garden supply store can tell you what to buy and when to apply it. Good luck.

You have a "weed" that is very invasive. You pull and you'll notice that you're pulling for a long time and it's attached to other areas in the lawn. You have a couple options...1) soak the lawn and starting pulling slowly and digging to get the root (which seems like a bulb attached to other bulbs). 2) rip up your lawn, put weed killer in the dirt and remove a good couple inches of dirt. Replant the lawn with new dirt. 3) could start a fire, but it will bring it back I'm thinking, unless you get rid of the roots. 4) weed killer may work. Just be careful. My parents used a weed killer on their lawn that wasn't suppose to kill the grass and it killed the grass, not the weeds.

Good luck.

Use a shovel. That's the one method I realize. But they devour mice and different vermin, so I'd advise purchasing a few white mice on a constant foundation and leaving them caged at the fringe of the garden for the snakes to devour. They gets used to the mice being there and you'll slowly transfer the mice farther and farther out till the snakes are long gone.

That doesn't sound like grass, but rather, weeds. Get some weed killer for your lawn, it will not hurt your actual grass.

Use herbicide that kill weed, cut them, or buy a pet animal that eats grass (a goat).

you can burn your yard, it usually kills most weed, plus once your grass grows back it will be fuller and healthier for some reason
