I believe he does a fantastic job. He tells you to LOOK AT YOURSELF instead of BLAMING OTHERS. Alot of people cant handle that. They would rather blame someone else for whatevers negative in their life. "I'll put the blame on you so i dont have to deal with me" If you do that, you'll always have the same old problems.

I kind of like Dr. Phil. He tells people what's wrong with them and then tries to help them fix it. Someone has to tell the parents of the kid that weights 300 pounds in tenth grade that they need to get the kid some help with diet and exercise. I don't always care for his tactics and methods but I do believe he is a positive influence.

Dr. Phil is a skilled person and everything he teaches on the show is supported by his profession. He's not just giving opinions...he's sharing knowledge. This is probably not apparent to some people because they're not educated in his field, but those of us who are (teachers, counselors, lawyers, social workers, etc.) know that he's right on target.

I'll go with the latter choice. His observations and advice are often so simple-minded and obvious that a child could dish out the same lame things. He also seems to be something of a hypocrite at times. Granted, he probably has helped quite a few people, but if I was forced to be on his show, I don't think I could take it.

Some of the stuff he says is a bit harsh, but for the most part he is right on the money and it is easier to see a situation from the outside in is so much easier to see.

It is so obvious that he is getting rich off of his act. He gives all this lose weight advise to others and he is overweight himself. He has had a lucky break, Oprah made it easy for him to start.

I just don't see how he helps people. I've watched his show a few times and everytime, he never gives a clearcut solution to the problems. Yet, everyone continues to praise him. I don't get it.
