We've had a rough relationship in the past. He's been in my life for 10+ years and it's always been a rollercoaster of DRAMA and happiness. I love that man unconditionally with all my heart and soul. We have a beautiful 5 year old boy who just loves it went we spend time together. I know he would be happier if we got back together and so would I. Sometimes I think that my son's father feels the same way as I do, but sometimes I doubt him. I get mixed reactions from him. We go out to eat and do "family" things together and we just kiss when we part ways at the end of our date. He has not let me see the inside of his apartment yet, we've been separated for 2 and 1/2 years now. It was a pretty bad break up, both of us cheated on each other. I would love to begin the intamacy between each other but he says i'll get attached and that he's not ready for that yet. Anyway, his birthday is coming up on Aug. 17th, what can i get him? He just opened up a music store, he loves music.

Don't get him anything sentimental or frilly. I could give better advice if we had more details about the cheating. Who was the guy you banged behind your husbands back that sent him into a shame spiral where he boffed some younger hot doll to get back at you? It was over the internet wasn't it? Please describe, in inappropriate detail, how the two of you met up and punched the dolphin for the first time while your husband was at work.

Oh, and *** less chaps sound good or a ukulele.

Better than any material item , I would be honest. I think life is to short to putter around things. Tell the man you love him, and that you would love the chance to be with him again. Then I would never cheat. Always remember that if you can find problems with one guy you can find problems with another. Ask for forgiveness, forgive him and move on for yourselves and your son. If something happened to that man you love you would always have wished you tried to get him back rather than buy him a gift he will care less for before Christmas.
Good Luck with LOVE:)

mutual infidelity. oh man. i'm not sure it can happen. i'd imagine things are severed pretty bad and the fact that he won't let you see his apartment? that's a little... suspect.

get him a card and move on. don't kid yourselves anymore, i mean i think everyone deserves a second chance but maybe you just weren't meant for each other? you'll find love again. believe it or not.

plus, if it's a rocky relationship to begin with, you owe it to your son. he doesn't need to grow up in that type of environment.

Get rid of your son for the night and take him to a nice fancy restaurant. Then if things look better from there go out and have a few drinks, then maybe stay in a nice hotel. By then I think he will get the clue. Good Luck!

I would get him a watch...

I would also say something meaningful (but corny) such as, I hope this can represent a new start for the both of us... happy birthday and congratulations again on your store.

It sounds like you are answering your own question, YOUR 5YR OLD Loves it when he sees the two of you together, maybe his dad would like to see his son happy.

Be honest about your feelings, he might feel the same way.
As for him not letting you see the inside of his apartment, he is probably a slob when he lives by himself.
