Who are these "little people"?

2006-08-04 06:27:50 · answer #1 · answered by Pitchow! 7 · 2 1

People seem to always assume it's the Dems (I live in CA) but I don't think so... Reps (more than Dems) are often religious people and I have personally known many who have done things to help others, mostly through their church. For example, church groups who go to other countries to build schools/homes and help the poor out... Churches have cheap day care for poor children, soup kitchens, holiday meal donations, etc.

People often criticize Reps for looking out for "business" but if there is no business then there is no jobs... When a business is going well is when you get benefits and perks. And, having a good job keeps many of us from becoming one of the "little people"...

The truth is that people of both parties care the same about the little people. They just differ on how to help.

For welfare, Democrats like to be generous with other peoples' money, using the blunt and impersonal instrument of federal bureaucracy. Republicans tend to support such things through private charities.

But it would be a false statement and terrible lie to claim that either group cares less about people.

Dems!! W/O a doubt. Republicans are racists bastards who only look out for the white race(i.e. mr. bush now) They only care about money and capita and dont look at bigger concerns(i.e. global warming, falling infrastructure, public schools). They have this b/s double standard rule that is coming to an end. As long as the white man is on top, they can care less about the rest. Look at how good the U.S. was when Clinton and JFK and Carter were in office. Hillary for pres in 08'.

Republicans are certainly not perfect, but they're by far better than Democrats. Democrats mainly pretend to care for "the little people" while they're into the fat cat lifestyle, themselves. The programs and solutions they come up with most often cripple and debilate people even more, so that they don't become strong, independent and free from needing more help from them that in turn cause more problems in a vicious cycle.

Neither, every presidential election we see the standard photos of the candidates walking in the ghetto and meeting with the people who live there. In all honesty they both care about one thing money. From their money they get power. The standard of living is decreasing at a rapid rate and it seems most Americans refuse to believe it. Democrats and Republicans can both defend your party now. Some of us realize it's all one party and depending on where you stand they take turns playing good cop and bad cop to play to the voters and then both parties laugh all the way to the bank.
