If it's God's timing, you aren't marrying for personal satisfaction nor for best of your partner but rather for God's Glory. If you can tell the difference among those three, you are ready to marry.
Is there proof? Hard to answer empirically. BUT is makes a lot of sense. Transcendence is a key ingredient of successful marriages and successful single lives.
