Just found out another friend bought their first house and another friend just got married. This now constant stream of friends getting married or buying condos makes me feel like I'm underperforming compared to my peers. I knew I shoulda taken more AP classes in high school...j/k But, it is getting difficult to feel good about myself when I'm nowhere close to where my peers are at. No g/f, so marraige ain't happening soon, and I work in the public sector, so a condo isn't in the future. I had no idea back years ago that all I would care about now is money and status. Sigh...

Stop comparing yourself to your peers. Everybody lives at their own pace. You're only in your twenties, so you have plenty of time to acquire things. Enjoy while you can.

so what. if you are trying to keep up with the jones the only thing this will do is make you feel all depressed and left out. so what if all your friends are getting married, by the time you decided to get married (and please be in no hurry), your friends are going to be on their first or second divorces. sorry but this is the truth. about the housing situation, keep an eye out, the governement has alot of ideas to help u out when purchasing a condo and/or house. there is a thing called hud homes where they help people with low incomes to become new homeowners.
let them bragged about their wealth,. big deal. maybe they are just showing off for the hell of it.

HI.
Just a little advise from someone who's past your phase.

Dont ever compare you like with someone elses. ever one has a course to go through and knowone runs it the same or is supposed to run it the same. Be aware of your qualities that knowone else has and make the best of you positives. everyone was not born to be rich, everyone was not born to follow the mainstream, and everyone has there own life lessons.

Instead of putting pressure on your self for "material" things open yourself up to what YOU really NEED and Want...........not based on others, but what makes you happy.

Condos cost money and arent always a good investment, marraiges fail........be a winner and look for YOUR path and let the others work on theres!!

Good luck. You'll make it!

Don't stress yourself out, You have your life to live you may not hit your mark at the same time as your friends. Make sure you enjoy yourself and lead a good life. If you keep working hard, things will fall into place. Every one moves at their own pace. Enjoy the ride and you will have your own successes to have others envious of. Your path may be a little slower but make sure you enjoy the scenery as much as possible and experience whatever you can.

You have to do what is best for you and you probably are. If not, start. Don't try to live up to someone else. You are not them. Make yourself happy doing what pleases you. If you feel that you want to more in your life for your own personal happiness and not to live up to others, then go back to school. Don't do anything to compete with others. It's not worth it and it won't make you happy in the long run.

Good luck!

know the feeling - so I would suggest going back to school while you still can - and remember they may seem to have more than you but you never really know what troubles they have- my cousin would be considered more sucessful than me but her first marraige ended in 13 months, the second less than five years- you may also try volunteering for something

I freak about the same things... and I'm only in my 20's
I just think of ways to get myself on that path
if I want to be on it.

Try to be content with yourself
if you aren't
go to school and learn something new to better your career
