They'd be okay the first year, living off their own fat cells.
After that... not so good.

That is what they should do with them see how it is like to live on mininum wage for a year each! Maybe then they would do something about getting benifits for these people!

This is a stupid Question.
The minimum wage is not meant to be a living wage it is only a beginning wage if you are stupid enough to stay at an entry level wage, then you are not smart enough to get an education. Or move up the ranks.
would you want your Liberal congressmen to make minimum wage?

I don't think it's wrong to demand that people develop skills and apply them in order to be paid a decent wage. With this in mind, minimum wage for Congress begins to look like an attractive proposition.

They would not ever have to because they more than likely finished high school and developed a marketable skill (other than flipping burgers). If you have no skills your pay will reflect that. So if 40 hours a week at 5.15/hr is not enough, than get a second job or some more education!

well I have always said that they should have their wages garnished for inflation, national debt and all that.
I remember Tip O'Niel on Larry King Live complain that he wasn't making enough money to send his 5 kids to college.
I really think a paycut would be in order untill be get ourselves out of debt.

It may be what they are worth, but no one is supposed to "live" on minimum wage. That's why it isn't called "living" wage.
Where is the incentive to work harder, learn more, and move up if we start everyone out at $15/hr?

They don't have to. No one has to.
If you educate yourself you can make good money. Don't say they can't afford it. The government will give you money, you can get grants or loans.
No one is meant to live on min wage.
