Go to Hellas by the Lake and visit Mixalis. The sportzbar or Sorrento are where the English tourists go but for the more sophisticated visitor, take a trip into Elounda. There are many places there that are populated by Greeks and by tourists.
If you are looking for a major clubbing holiday this is probably the wrong place and you need to be shifted to Malia.
But whatever you do, you must must must go to the sunbathers paradise of Chrissi Island. Get a boat from Irepetra at 10 o clock and you will see why. Nothing there but a taverna. Not that picturesque, but after you bathe in the beautiful Libyan sea and basque in the tranquility with nothing to do but top up ur tan... then u will know why Crete is paradise!!

Well, Aghios Nickolaos is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy some vacations!
There are plenty of activities so that you can enjoy every moment there!
Enjoy some dinner over the lake, swim around the city, visit Spinalonga, Sitia, Dicteon Andron (the cave where Zeus was raised by the Kourites brothers, fed by Amaltheia, ...), visit Ierapetra, ... and definitely there are many places in town to enjoy and feel! Also, an hour (or so) drive is Heraclion, with the famous archaeological museum, as well as Knossos! Further, you might want to visit Malia and hundreds of pretty places, from natural, social, historical, archaeological point of view!
At night, I do not forget the dinner overlooking the lake! Super! Then, you can visit some nigh clubs, etc. You would be lucky if there is some feast, wedding, etc., so to enjoy the all night long feast, celebrating life, joy, prosperity!

Its 15 years since i went there but as i remember i went on a trip to Spinalonga island which used to be a leper colony..i know it
doesnt sound attractive but was good.
After we sailed to a secluded beach and had a barbebcue....that was amazing diving off the boat into the crystal clear sea!!!
I also had a wee of the bridge in the middle of town....ull remember me now when u walk across it!
When i was there the nightlife was amazing cant see it changing plus Malia isnt far away..that place is always buzzing.
