You may remember Willie. He is our small town's only mechanic and is a threat to automobiles everywhere. (Willie is the one who can "fix" a car and weeks later it may start cartwheeling grille over trunk down the street.)

So, Willie torn this guy's Cadillac down to fix it at the same time he had a Honda Civic in his shop for repairs. Willie's first mistake was to try to work on both cars at the same time. --SOMEHOW, Willie got the Honda Civic's parts mixed into the Caddie while he was putting them back together. Now he has only one car to return to an owner. Which one?

The Caddie owner is none too happy because the finished car is so durn small even though it now gets 70 mpg. And the Honda owner likes the new leather upholstery he didn't have before but is scared his teen-aged son will kill himself driving a car capable of 120 mph.

What to do? Willie was lucky enough just to get one of the two back together in a running condition!!!

The wisdom of Soloman is required here!!!

Willie strikes again. Hope you keep up the Willie stories. I'll keep watching for them. Better reading than most of the real questions and the people with no clue giving answers are even better. ;>

I'm a mechanic and from what I know, you really can't mix and match parts from a Cadillac and a Honda. The engine parts will not fit for the other car, and if they do, they probably won't work. As far as the interior goes, you might be able to switch the seats around, and so forth, but that's easy to switch back.

As far as my experience goes, are you telling the truth? or is this just a funny story?

As Solomon advised cut the car in two and return a Hondaillac motorcylcle to each of the owners. Given enough time, I am sure Willie can figure this out.

And which one is actually running now? The Hondalac, or the Cadilondo? If it was me, I'd take them both apart and get Mary's boy (you know, the one that fixes up things) to put it back together. I know your sister isn't speaking to Mary, but this is an emergency, just don't tell her. It's time she got over that unfortunate event at the family reunion picnic in 1947 anyway. Good luck.

Offer the car to both owners. Tell them they will each get half. The rightful owner will be the one who does not want to have the car split in two.
