Well to answer your first question a very few do. First it has been over sixty years anyone who was alive at that time is either gone now or is very old. Secondly after the war the US helped Japan build an economy that did not depend on war. As for you second question why Japan entered the second world war will that is extremely complex and I would never be able to answer that question in this forum. The short answer to this is Oil.

I asked this question to a Japanese friend while I was living there
and he said the Japanese by and large hold no lasting bitterness
toward our dropping the bomb. It did humble them Japan had a long history of imperial conquest and humiliation of their neighbors China , Korea , Vietnam etc.
The bomb actually freed them from a police state governement
that treated everyone like equipment for a higher purpose.

The Japanese are very unique. You should try to visit and find out why I say this.

No, most of them don't. Japan would have kept on fighting till the death, with the whole "dishonor" ordeal. It was total war for Japan, and eventually they would have been destroyed all together, so, they are quite grateful that it was "saved"...for the most part.

Why did they enter the world war? To become a more powerful nation. They can only do so much from their island, so to have a growing power like Germany on their side, they would have increased their chances of becoming a more dominant and successful country.

No resentment basically. Some want US to apologize, but they are already old. Don't worry.
about history, see this site.

By the way, US rebuilt Japan? Bullshit.
Japan rebuilt with their intelligence, hard working, and prudence, etc. 95% of population could read and write when WW2, in 1945.
US (GHQ) were surprised with the very low illiterate rates, and decided not to set English as public language.
That is why only a few Japanese speak English today. hahaha...

If US did build and help, why don't you and can't you same things in Vietnam and MidEast as well? in Israel too.
That is the answer.

Some do. Some are greatful for the US's aid in getting their country restarted in the 40's and 50's. Some don't like westerners of any kind.

NO, BECAUSE WE REBUILT THEIR COUNTRY AND HELPED THEM BECOME THE 2ND LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD.

JAPANESE WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE OFF UNDER AN EMPEROR.

THEIR CONSUMER GOODS USED TO BE A JOKE TO BE LAUGHED AT. NOW THE JAPANESE PRODUCE SUPERIOR ELECTRONICS AND MOTOR VEHICLES.
