First thing is to realize that visual arts, unlike all the other arts, stay while you create it. Think about it, music, drama etc. are all time-based and disappear as it is being made. This is what makes visual art hard and sometimes painful. Face you failures head on, throw away your eraser and keep trying no matter what. NEVER throw out a drawing.

Drawing is not just getting a piece of paper and a pencil and drawing a picture, it is a spiritual experience. You have to actually "see" what you are drawing. You want to draw a rose; pick the rose up by the stem, hold it close to your face and LOOK at it, really look at it. Do you see how the petals join together. Wonder how they stay together like they do and why. They could fall apart so easily. Feel the texture of the petals, so soft and silky, you can even see the veins that run through each petal! Notice how the ends of each petal curl outward softly, leaning out as if to embrace something. Work your way from petal to petal until you reach the center petal. Notice how small it is, how much softer, like a woman's skin on the inside of her thigh. Look inside the rose at the center. Marvel at the detail. Take a petal and put it on your tongue. The flavorful perfume inundates the senses. Chew the petal slowly, allowing the perfume to fill your mouth, breathe through your nose as you chew; you can actually smell the rose. Now close your eyes and see the rose in your mind. Got it? Take another rose and set it where you can see every detail. NOW draw the rose, each petal as it connects together, each curl of the petal itself, starting with the inside and working your way out. If you still don't get it right after this, you must keep at it, repeating the process until you are able to draw the rose the way you see it in your mind. And when it does happen, you will know and it will be like the first time you saw the sun come up over the horizon. Good luck!

Oh, this one I can help you with, here's the way to draw a simple rose I learned way back in gr.1 from an artistic teacher.
1. Draw a small oval shaped spiral
2. Beneath the spiral draw an triangle standing on its points, with gently rounded sides, like the triangle was bulging slightly. 1 side of the triangle should be against the oval so you don't need to draw that line (or do it lightly in pencil then erase)
3. Draw the petals around this, like bumpy clouds, do about three petals around the oval/triangle core, and then around those petals do another layer around them. 2-3 layers of petals are good. (for a rose blossom just leave the oval/triangle base alone)
I did a quick sketch on youdraw to give you an idea, check it out cause I can't guarantee how long the link will be good.
