The present site of the state of Isreal is historically not the same as the biblical state of Isreal. The occupation of Palastine land by Isreal is certainly a naked injustics ,hence can there be peace without justics? Why did American government make it there responsibility to defend injustics and at the sametime claim to be promoting democracy?

Pro: Be glad that israel wasn't established in the US. It was a consideration
Con: I think the cat's out of the bag that it is a thorn in the side of peace for sure! You can bet on it!!!

Ever hear of the Cold war. Israel was a bastion of non-soviet influence in a volatile region... hence the friendship. I wish we could dump it, but, that's the history. And Brittan created Israel out of there old empire, Palestine hasn't existed as its own country under its own rule for a long time... it was part of the ottoman empire pre-WWI and before that it was part of the Byzantine empire, before that it was part of the Roman Empire. before that it was between the Greeks and Persians, then it was the Palestine, and before that, it was Israel. So really, Palestine has always been a geographical area, not a country
