1 because it can mean the difference to your entire life.
IE:
1 bad mistake...
1 point away (from the desired grade)
1 false move...
1 wrong word....
1 split second decision....
Or, you could flip it and for some people they feel the opposite that 1 is the best number for the same reasons. However, I am not an optomistic person so I hate that number!

0, definitely. I still haven't learned my multiplication tables for it, and I'm pretty lousy at figuring out zero-divided-by-anything. However, I'm really darn good at dividing BY zero. The only problem there is that when I do, my homework paper collapses into a charred particle of near-infinite density and leaves a crater in my desk. What gives?

My senior year in college, I wanted to get nothing but A's and B's. I missed a B in one of my classes by 5 points.

#2 - all the tiny girls in every sport I ever played always got to wear # 2 and I hated them for it. Being 6 feet tall has had its advantages though, and no #2 I knew played on scholarship.
